Communication has never been as easy as it is today. Email has become the standard means of business communication - and often includes sensitive document files as attachments.  Many organizations have document and email retention policies - but how long should data be kept? One principle suggests that data should not be kept longer than necessary, but given the importance of maintaining business records and potential legal obligations, companies must formulate and consistently apply records management policy.
